John Willetts Becomes ICME Branch President  3/09/07

On Monday September 3rd 2007 John took over the presidency of the West Midlands, Birmingham and Coventry Branch of the Institute of Cast Metal Engineers.

John's first duty was to make a presidential address in which he outlined the technical and social program for the year. He stated that his aim when making the program was to include some general interest topics which would appeal to a wider audience. By this means he hoped to increase the numbers of both members and non-members at the meetings and to create within the participants an interest in the ICME which may go on to boost both attendance at meetings and ultimately membership of the organisation.

John also thanked the immediate past president, Joe Patterson, and the committee, which had done such a sterling job in the preceding year, and looked forward to their support for his year.
